Cheryl P. Brown, LL.B.(HONS), Dip LP N.P.
I am the principal of the long established Firm of McWhinney Richards in Airdrie. I have a background in general civil litigation but have specialised for over 25 years as a family lawyer. I have a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution as I appreciate that my clients are often keen to avoid the stress and financial cost which Court based resolutions can often entail. I am accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Family Law Mediator and I am trained in Collaborative Law. I am regularly appointed by Airdrie Sheriff Court as a Reporter to the Court in family actions. I also act as Curator in Adoption cases and have regular appointments as Curator to children in family cases. I have a keen interest in all family law matters, particularly those affecting children and have undertaken training in the interviewing of children.
